We have long known that Italian residential buildings, in terms of digital equipment, suffer from a great backwardness compared to their counterparts in neighbouring countries. Although the Construction Act, (par. 135a) requires in all new or renovated buildings the installation of a fiber-optic backbone, the famous multi-service plant, the reduced amount of new construction makes this equipment a rarity. Unfortunately, energy saving and management services, to which we are also obliged by European directives, cannot be implemented without a digital infrastructure serving the building, as is easy to imagine. The same goes for other services common to the buildings: video surveillance, management of electric charging in the common parking lot, etc. In short, without distribution infrastructure you can not offer the functions that abroad are developing a very rich market, but that are almost unknown to us.

However, there is a solution to all these problems, and it is also simple and cheap.

We also want to offer concrete ideas, so that operators at different levels can concretely appreciate the development opportunities of IoT Edge Computing.
