Saipem and Siemens Energy has developed a new concept of Floating Substation based on a proven semisubmersible substructure, designed to operate also in the most extreme environments with enhanced stability and which can be scaled up as required by clients.
The design has been developed to address the industrialization phase as it can be adapted to fabrication and assembly infrastructures worldwide.
This floating substation represents a tangible solution for reducing the levelized cost of energy (LCOE) of floating wind farms.
During the event, after a brief introduction on the jointly floating offshore substation concept development path, in the format of a round table with technical experts, there will be a discussion on main Challenges and Opportunities on the way of its commercialization in the offshore floating wind market.
