The high cost of energy continues to affect the agribusiness sector, which until now has managed to absorb price increases due to the rise in raw materials, without significantly passing them on to the final price and thus to the consumer. Production costs borne by businesses continue to rise along with the price of energy, and the situation threatens not only the competitiveness of the sector but the very existence of many business activities. Starting with the data of energy consumption in the sector and with the presentation of entrepreneurial casai of enterprises in the sector, possible solutions for energy efficiency related to cogeneration in the agribusiness industry that aim at cost savings will be illustrated; new economic opportunities arising from new PPA contracts for the purchase of renewable energy and new investment funds will also be described.
